London-born, Manchester-based
A bit about being born in London, living in Manchester and how both places have ended up becoming part of what I'm doing.
I was born in London and I'm based in Manchester now.
I don't know if I've ever really thought about either of those things as something I deliberately put into my music. It's just part of who I am, so naturally it's going to end up in there somewhere.
Manchester is where I'm making a lot of the music now.
It's where I'm writing, recording, meeting people and basically trying to build all of this.
I don't sit down and think I'm going to write a song about Manchester though. It's not really like that.
I think wherever you're living just gets into what you're making eventually.
You're having conversations here. You're meeting people here. Things are happening to you here. Then I go away and write about those things.
London is obviously part of me as well because that's where I was born and where everything started.
So I suppose there's a bit of both in there.
London-born, Manchester-living.
That's probably the easiest way of putting it.
